Arnica lanceolata

Rare at the Park, this arnica is more typically found on the east side of the Cascades. Here it is growing at high elevation on rocky slopes.

Arnica lanceolata

The leaves are toothed and not much reduced in size along the stem. There are several flowering heads.

Arnica lanceolata

The plants are glandular-hairy and the toothed leaves clasp the stem. Formerly named Arnica amplexicaulis, this plant often grows near streams, although in these photos it is established on rocky sites. This is subspecies prima.
