Mt. Rainier Flora --
Ceanothus velutinus -- (Tobacco Brush)
Occasionally found in the lowlands on dry sites and forest openings, this shrubs can reach 6 feet in height. The leaves have a sweet smell, and the flowers are borne in clusters. This is variety laevigatus.
