Most common on the southeast side of the Park in dense, lowland forests, the showy blossoms are white bracts.

Cornus nuttallii

This is an over-wintering "bud": the packed central flowers are surrounded by the unexpanded bracts. The fruit is an aggregation of berries that turn red when mature.
