Fragaria virginiana

The fruit is as much as one-half inch in diameter. Here the plant is growing above the typical elevation. This is subspecies platypetala.

Fragaria virginiana

Another common lowland strawberry, the flowers typically number only one per stem. The leaves are bluish-green, and the central tooth is shorter than the others.
