Fragaria vesca

A very common lower elevation strawberry, here seen growing at a forest edge near the Nisqually entrance on the south side of the Park.

Fragaria vesca

The small fruit is quite sweet, and the leaves are green above and below. This is variety bracteata.

Fragaria vesca

The stems typically rise above the leaves and bear 2-5 flowers. Sometimes the petals are toothed. This species grows alongside roads as well as in open forests.
