Mt. Rainier Flora -- Nuphar polysepala -- (Yellow Pond-Lily)

presented by Susan McDougall

Nuphar polysepala

Rare, with only a few populations known, the stems rise from a thick rootstock, and the heart-shaped large leaves float on the surface of the water. The sepals are bright yellow and the petals are small and hidden.
