Penstemon fruticosus x rupicola

Locally common in Stevens Canyon where it grows along the road, this hybrid has a rose-colored flower that reveals the dual parentage, with a blue cast from P. fruticosus and the bright pink of P. rupicola.

Penstemon fruticosus x rupicola

The leaves are grayish-green, similar to P. rupicola, but the plants are taller and the leaves larger, similar to P. fruticosus.
