Penstemon rupicola

A subalpine penstemon of rocky habitat, the flower color alone distinguishes it, and when seen on steep cliffs, as shown in the photo, it is unmistakable.

Penstemon rupicola

The deep pink flowers are more than an inch in length, with ridges on the lower lip. The leaves are oval, thick, and gray-green in color.
