The yellowish flowers are in branched, densely packed cymes (the flowers first open at the branch end). This is subspecies oregonensis.

Rare at the Park, Shade Phacelia is more typically a lowland plant. Here it is growing at Ipsut Pass, on the northwest side of the Park. It may reach five feet in height (although lower here). The leaves are pinnately compound with several lobes.
