Pyrola chlorantha

Only about eight inches tall, this pyrola thrives in lower elevation dense forests where it is fairly common if sometimes overlooked. The leaves are thick and borne on long stalks.

Pyrola chlorantha

As the scientific and common names both imply, the flowers are greenish and typically few in number. Occasionally plants without leaves and bearing reddish-colored flowers are seen.
