Rosa nutkana

A rose of open forest and disturbed sites, such as alongside roads, Nootka Rose is relatively uncommon at the Park. The shrubs are about 3 feet tall, and the leaves are divided into 5-7 leaflets, each singly-toothed.

Rosa nutkana

The solitary flowers are quite wide, with notched petals nearly an inch long. The sepals remain attached to the fruit. This is variety macdougallii.
