The berries range in color from orange to nearly purple and are quite tasty.

Rubus spectabilis

Particularly common alongside meadows and roadsides as well, this lower elevation Rose Family member does grow to elevations of 5,000 feet. At lower altitudes, it can be one of the first flowering shrubs of spring.
