The spikelets are borne in a rounded inflorescence. This species is a member of the Sedge Family.

Scirpus microcarpus

Broad-leaved and tall (4 feet or more), with triangular stems, this bullrush is locally common in low elevation swamps and alongside streams on the south side of the Park.
