Solidago elongata

Tall, with a pyramidal inflorescence, this showy Aster Family member grows on open, dry ground, and is most easily seen along the Stevens Canyon road.

Solidago elongata

The plants may reach five feet and the multiple stems are clothed in pointed, toothed leaves; basal leaves are absent. Both ray and disc flowers are present although the rays are quite diminished.
