Mt. Rainier Flora -- Sparganium angustifolium -- (Narrow-leaved Bur-reed)

Sparganium angustifolium

A low-elevation bur-reed, this species is common in ponds near the Nisqually and Ohanapecosh Rivers. Here it grows near the Silver Falls trail, on the north side of the loop. The leaves are narrow and float on the surface.
