A striking white orchid of wet meadows from middle to subalpine elevations, Lady's Tresses also grows in wet roadside ditches and meadows.

Spiranthes romanzoffiana

The fragrant flowers are arranged in three ranks in spirals around the stem. The lip of the flower is tonguelike and extends downward.
