Mt. Rainier Flora --
Symphyotrichum subspicatum -- (Douglas's Aster)
A rare aster at the Park, here growing on a wet, open slope, the leaves do not clasp the stem but have a short stalk; they are lancelike and toothed. The many heads have purplish rays and yellow disk flowers.
