Mt. Rainier Flora -- Trichophorum cespitosum -- (Tufted Bulrush)

Trichophorum cespitosum

Known from only a few middle elevation locations, this bulrush is a species of boggy habitat. A member of the Sedge Family (Cyperaceae) it is distinguished by a single spike.

Trichophorum cespitosum

The tufted plants have nearly round stems, and the leaves are recuded to small sheaths.
