Mt. Rainier Flora -- Trientalis europaea -- (Creeping Snowberry)

presented by Susan McDougall

Trientalis europaea

Rare and beautiful, the flower of this Primrose Family member is unusual in having seven petals instead of five. The leaves are whorled near the top of the stem and scattered along it to the base. It grows on wet sphagnum soils.
