Mt. Rainier Flora -- Urtica dioica -- (Stinging Nettle)

Urtica dioica

A lowland species that grows in wet habitat in the major river valleys, the stems are tall, 4-angled and covered with stinging hairs. It is an unfriendly plant. The flowers lack petals and are borne in separate female and male clusters.
