Mt. Rainier Flora --
Vahlodea atropurpurea -- (Mountain Hairgrass)
Common in subalpine meadows to an elevation of 7,000 feet, the leaf blades of this tall grass are wide and flat. The spikelets are purplish and configured in an open panicle.
