Early to bloom in coniferous forests from the lowlands to about 5,500 feet, this cheerful violet is found throughout the Park.

Viola orbiculata

The leaves are rounded and blunt at the tip, with shallow teeth. The yellow flower has dark veins and is set on top of a short stem with reduced leaves.
