Acer macrophyllum

Bigleaf Maple is a massive tree with a thick trunk and very large leaves. The leaves are divided into 3-5 lobes and are sometimes a foot wide or more. The flowers are greenish and fragrant.

Acer macrophyllum

This maple often grpws on disturbed sites, including rocky habitat, but also does well in wet places with deep soils. The trunks of older trees are often covered with ferns.
