A member of the Aster Family, Trail Plant has small white flowers borne on tall stems. This plant is most common in low elevation forests although it ranges as high as 6,500 feet; it is often seen alongside trails.

The common name refers to the contrasting color between the top of the leaf (green) and the underside (whitish). When the leaf is turned over it can indicate a trail.
