Antennaria lanata

Common in subalpine rocky habitat to elevations of 7,000 feet, the flowers of this Aster Family member are crowded into a small head. The basal leaves are four inches in length, oblong and woolly; the stem leaves are much reduced.

Antennaria lanata

This Antennaria does not form mats but rather is tufted, rising from a heavy rootstock. The basal leaves have three veins.
