Arceuthobium campylopodum

Blending with the host tree, the short stems of mistletoe are not always easy to see. Here the fruits are clustered on a short stalk on Western Hemlock.

Arceuthobium campylopodum

The yellowish-green plants are parasitic to the host tree. Here the stiff stems form a small clump on Pacific Silver Fir.

The stems are branched, and the leaves have been reduced to scales. The seeds are expelled and stick to the surface where they land.
