Arctostaphylos uva-ursi

Growing as high as 8,000 feet on rocky banks, this manzanita is also occasionally found at lower elevations. It forms large, prostrate mats. The rounded leaves are evergreen, and the flowers are composed of 5, partially-fused sepals.
