Bromus carinatus

Fairly common, this is a tall brome with flattened spikelets and auricles (ear-like lobes) at the base of the leaf blades. Here it grows alongside a rock wall near the road.

There are two or more spikelets at the end of each branch and several flowers in each spikelet.
