Forming large clumps in lowland forest edges, often alongsides roads, Scouler's Corydalis is easily identified by the long spur on the pinkish flowers. They flowers are crowded along a tall stem that rises above the wide leaves.

The large leaves are divided 3 times into lancelike or oblong segments; they are alternate on the stem. This species belongs to the Poppy Family.
