Most often found above 7,000 feet on the north and east sides of the Park, here along the Palisades Lake Trail this showy daisy grows among rocks. The heads are solitary and the yellow ray flowers very numerous.

The heads are borne on stiff, short hairy stems (6 inches). The basal leaves are oval, and the stem leaves narrow.
