Mt. Rainier Flora -- Hordeum jubatum -- (Foxtail Barley)

presented by Susan McDougall

Hordeum jubatum

Often seen alongside roads at low to middle elevations, this barley has the appearance of a weedy plant, the brushy impression due to long awns on the spikelet. The spikelets can be somewhat obscure alongst the awns.
