Iris missouriensis

The "classic" iris flowers are pale purple with striped petals. This is a colonial plant and seems well established in the meadow. The leaves are nearly an inch wide and the stems are about 30 inches tall.

Iris missouriensis

Known from a single location at Longmire meadow, this iris is more common in eastern Washington.
