Luina hypoleuca -- (Silverback Luina)
A fairly common plant of rocky sites, sometimes seen alongside roads on cliffs where soil seems minimal, this aster family member has attractive creamy-colored flowers composed of disk flowers only.

The plants form a wide mound of leaves that are woolly beneath; the leaves are nearly uniform in size along the stout stems.
