Each stems bears a few small clusters of flowers and there are and three seeds in each capsule.

Luzula hitchcockii

The leaves are flat and bright green, and borne both in a basal grouping and along the stems. Lower elevation plants are as much as 2 feet tall.

Luzula hitchcockii

A tufted plant with wide leaves, this woodrush is common in the lower subalpine region, where it grows in forest openings, on roadsides, and in meadows.
