Mt. Rainier Flora --
Micranthes lyallii -- (Lyall's Saxifrage)
Very rare at the Park, this is a species of northern and northeastern Washington. It grows on wet cliffs in Stevens Canyon and the Cowlitz Divide.

The petals are white; in this photo the developing reddish fruit is two-chambered.

The leaves are fan-shaped and toothed, and the flower stalks are only about 4 inches tall.
