Mt. Rainier Flora --
Nothocalais alpestris -- (Smooth Mountain-Dandelion)
This dandelion-like species grows in a variety of habitats, including rocks and meadows. The plant resembles Microseris borealis, but the leaves of Nothocalais have slender teeth.

A tufted plant with broad showy flowers composed of ray flowers only, it is quite unlike any other species in the subalpine regions.
