Mt. Rainier Flora -- Pedicularis groenlandica -- (Elephant's Head)

presented by Susan McDougall

Pedicularis groenlandica

Growing in wet meadows from middle elevations to the subalpine, Elephant's Head is often easily seen as a tall flowering stalk above the other plants. The beak of the flower extends from the upper lip, resembling the trunk of an elephant.
