Polypodium glycyrrhiza

Found at lower elevations this species is often observed growing on Bigleaf Maple in river valleys on south side of the Park. It also grows on mossy cliffs, as shown in the photograph alongside Westside Road.

Polypodium glycyrrhiza

The common name is derived from the flavor of the rootstocks. The leaf blade is long (up to 20 inches) and the leaflets are tapered. The sori are close to the midrib.
