presented by Susan McDougall

Poteridium occidentale

An odd little flower and very uncommon at the Park, this Rose Family member grows on disturbed ground at lower elevation. The leaves are divided, with 3-8 pairs of leaflets. The greenish flowers consist of sepals and are borne in a headlike spike.
