Pyrola picta

The leaves distinguish this Pyrola, although some plants lack leaves. The veins of the thick, pale leaves are marked with white.

Pyrola picta

The white markings produce a variety of patterns, a bit reminiscent of Rattlesnake Plantain. This is a middle elevation plant of dryish woods, growing to elevations of 5,000 feet.

Pyrola picta

The flowers have greenish-white petals and are numerous. They are borne on foot-tall stems.
