This low, uncommon evergreen shrub grows in low elevation wet habitat. At Longmire meadow where this photo was taken, it does well on soggy, sphagnum soil. The white flowers are borne in terminal clusters.

The flowers have five petals and are less than an inch wide, but the dense clusters are easily seen. Formerly called Ledum groenlandicum.
