Although a common tree-sized willow in the Puget Sound lowlands, this is a relatively rare species at the Park where it tends to take a shrubby form. Found in a few places near meadows, it is most easily recognized by the narrow leaves which taper to the tip and are bright shiny green above and glaucous below.
The trees may have multiple trunks, forming large clonal swaths. Here the willow is thriving on a higher site at Mountain Meadows on the north side of the Park.
