Thalictrum occidentale

A member of the Buttercup Family, the leaves of Western Meadowrue resemble those of the related columbines. They are bluish-green and divided 3 times. The tall stems are topped with a multiple-flowered inflorescence. Male and female are on separate plants.

This is a female plant with developing seeds. Western Meadowrue is an uncommon plant of forest openings and roadsides.
