Most frequently seen on the south side of the Park, this Trisetum has two subspecies which are separated by the nature of the panicle. The leaf blades are wide, and the spikelets are composed of two flowers. This is subspecies canescens.

Subspecies cernuum has an open panicle of spikelets. Common in moist habitat, both subspecies grow in moist places.
